AI visibility checker: can ChatGPT read and cite your website?
This free AI visibility checker reads your website the way an AI crawler would and, in 30 seconds, gives you your AI visibility score out of 100 and the breakdown of what to fix first.
It checks your robots.txt, llms.txt, sitemap and home page to see whether OAI-SearchBot, PerplexityBot, ClaudeBot and Googlebot can get into your site and understand it.

How it works
What does the checker test, and what doesn’t it?
The checker reads what an AI crawler would read on arrival, without running JavaScript or crawling the whole site: it is an AI visibility check of the first 30 seconds.
It reviews your robots.txt (whether you block OAI-SearchBot, PerplexityBot, ClaudeBot, GPTBot or Google-Extended), your llms.txt, your sitemap and your home page HTML: title, H1, structured data, language and how much text exists without running JavaScript.

What it measures
Access for AI and Google crawlers, llms.txt and sitemap files, and whether your home page makes sense without JavaScript. The technical layer of AI SEO, the one that blocks everything else.
- 02
What cannot be seen from outside
Whether your pages answer first, whether your facts carry a source and author, whether you appear in third-party sources and whether you measure. The AEO and GEO factors that are not in the code: the result points them out.
- 03
What it cannot know
Whether ChatGPT actually cites you. That is only measured by asking the engines, with buyer questions and several runs: it is what I do in the free audit.
Why it matters
Three failures that leave you out even when Google loves you.
Good SEO is not enough: if AI cannot get into your site or understand what you are, it recommends another business even when you rank first on Google.
These three failures are common and easy to miss, because they change nothing you see in the browser. All three are quick to fix, and the checker tells you whether you have any of them.
A robots.txt that blocks AI search
Many templates block “all AI bots” at once. That removes your business from live answers in ChatGPT, Perplexity and Claude, not just from training.
An empty home page without JavaScript
Several AI crawlers do not run JavaScript. If your text is painted in the browser, your site is blank to them.
No structured data and no llms.txt
AI needs to know which entity you are, what you sell and to whom. JSON-LD and llms.txt are the cheapest way to tell it.

Frequently asked questions about the AI visibility checker
What is an AI visibility score?
An AI visibility score is a 0–100 estimate of how ready your website is for AI to read, understand and cite it. It comes from twelve automatic checks of your public files, with no questions or surveys. It weighs most what blocks everything else, such as crawler access.
How does the AI visibility checker work?
It reads your site the way an AI crawler would: it requests robots.txt, llms.txt, the sitemap and the home page, and runs twelve specific checks. It does not use an AI model or run JavaScript, and it does not store your site’s content. What cannot be seen in the code, the result points out.
Is this a ChatGPT visibility checker?
Partly. A ChatGPT visibility checker that tells you whether ChatGPT mentions your brand has to query ChatGPT with real buyer questions. This tool checks the prerequisite: whether OAI-SearchBot and ChatGPT-User can get in and understand your site. For actual mentions, the free audit runs the questions for you.
Is this the same as a free SEO checker?
No. A classic SEO checker looks at speed, tags and links for Google. This tool looks at what answer engines need: access for OAI-SearchBot or PerplexityBot, llms.txt, entity data and readable text without JavaScript. Many well-optimized sites fail here.
Why can’t the checker tell me whether ChatGPT cites me?
Because that is not on your website: it is in each engine’s answers, which change with the question, language and day. Measuring it means running buyer questions in ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Perplexity and Gemini and repeating them. That is what I do in the free audit.
What data do you keep?
Your work email, your domain and the test result (score and checks), so I can discuss it with you. I do not store your site’s content. You can ask me to delete it at any time.
Can I block GPTBot and still show up in ChatGPT?
Yes. GPTBot is the training crawler; OAI-SearchBot and ChatGPT-User are the search and browsing ones. You can block the first and allow the other two. The checker tells them apart.
Want to know whether AI cites you, not just whether it reads you?
The free AI visibility audit runs 20 buyer questions across four engines and tells you which sources appear instead of you. I run it myself, in five days, at no cost.
